There are reports of record heat this long weekend in South Florida. It is said that Memorial Day weekend marks the unofficial beginning of summer, and in South Florida, that is exactly how it will feel. Highs on Friday will rise into the low 90s with mostly sunny skies. When you account for the humidity, the temperature will feel like the mid- to upper-90s.
It’s going to be warmer on Saturday, with lows in the low 90s. Storms that are sporadic are conceivable. Because of the heavy humidity, it will feel like it is in the upper 90s and triple digits throughout the holiday weekend. Even hotter for Memorial Day weekend, with highs hovering in the mid-90s on Sunday and Monday. We could break records, tie records, or get close to them. There is little possibility of rain from late Sunday into Monday, however there may be a few scattered showers. The likelihood of rain increases early to mid-week next week.
