UPDATE: According to authorities, a man lost his life in an accident on the Southern State Parkway in North Massapequa on Friday. It occurred on the eastbound side, close to Exit 29 along Hicksville Road, at about 2:00 p.m. A Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet Colorado, according to the police, were both involved in the collision. The Chevy Colorado rolled over.
After being transported to Nassau University Medical Center, Lindenhurst resident Thomas Bayer, 57, the driver of the wrecked car, passed away from his wounds. The Toyota Camry’s driver was brought to a hospital with injuries that weren’t thought to be life-threatening. On the parkway, the collision had caused a mile-long traffic backlog.
Numerous road closures and traffic jams on the area’s major thoroughfares, including the Southern State Parkway, have been reported to us. Traffic may be diverted in sixteen different directions via the Southern State Parkway. According to reports, a car accident had occurred earlier today. A car was said to have flipped over, although, there are claims that someone must’ve died, the authorities are yet to release an official report.
