Following a shooting incident at a Walmart in Camby on Sunday night, Indianapolis resident Matthew Steele, 34, passed suddenly. According to a news release, Hendricks County sheriff’s deputies were called to the Walmart at 8191 Upland Way at 1:44 p.m. in response to a report that someone had been shot. Around 1:53 p.m., when officers got on the scene, they found a male who seemed to have been shot in the torso.

The Walmart location in Camby is at 8191 Upland Way. As a person of interest, another man was taken into custody at the scene. According to the police, the two guys had been fighting before it turned violent, which is what caused the shots to fire. The shot man was sent in critical condition to IU Health Methodist Hospital.
