On Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11:44 a.m., Tiverton Police were alerted of a single motorcycle collision on Route 24 northbound. Joseph Morris, 48, of Warren, RI, lost control of his Harley Davidson motorcycle and veered off the road south of exit 1A, striking tension wires on the shoulder of the high-speed lane, resulting in life-threatening injuries. Witnesses stopped to help and offer medical treatment to Morris until he was brought to St. Anne’s.
He died of his injuries shortly after being admitted to a hospital in Fall River, Massachusetts.
Officers were supported on-scene by members of the department’s Accident Reconstruction Unit and the Tiverton Fire Department. The reason for this collision is still under investigation.
