6-year-old Lucy Morgan, the daughter of Jesse Morgan (Green Pond Bible Chapel, Pastor of Worship & Discipleship), was involved in a freak accident on Saturday, June 1, a racquet broke on a downward swing, and a sharp piece entered Lucy’s skull while she was sitting on the sidelines and caused a catastrophic injury. Lucy was transported to a hospital in Portland, ME. On Wednesday, June 5, Morgan succumbed to her injuries.

Jill Anthony is launching a GoFundMe appeal to offer extensive financial assistance, including meals, accommodation, and medical expenditures. According to Anthony, Jesse, Bethany, Silas, Shiloh, Lucy, and Atticus Morgan were in “an amazing lake cottage in Maine (Saturday, June 1), simply enjoying life together on our last full day here.” We were having a fast lunch by the lake when the kids decided to play badminton in the front yard. “Bethany and I were relaxing in the back when we heard screaming.”
Jesse Morgan
Jesse is overjoyed to be able to engage in discipleship both corporately during the worship session and personally through counseling and small group settings. He enjoys leading the body in worshiping God through Jesus Christ, as well as developing and growing disciples of Jesus. Although he grew up in Audubon, NJ, he joined the GPBC family in 2016 after earning his MDiv from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. He studied biblical history, languages, and counseling while also participating in the Auburndale Baptist Church’s worship ministry. He received his B.S. in Bible from Clarks Summit University (Baptist Bible College), where he also minored in music and met his lovely wife, Bethany.
He also got the option to study abroad at Jerusalem University College in his junior year. He is a Certified Biblical Counselor with the Association of Biblical Counselors and a Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider.
He likes counseling, men’s ministry, composing new texts for old hymn melodies, resurrecting old hymns in novel ways, and using newer music to unite the body in glory in the gospel. His other interests include spending time with his four children, Silas, Shiloh, Lucy, and Atticus, wood carving, climbing, soccer, volleyball, paper aircraft, and obsessively watching Philadelphia sports.
