Early Tuesday, May 28, there are claims that American rapper, singer, and record producer Bobby Ray Simmons Jr., known professionally as B.o.B had passed away. At this time, the news of his passing has not been confirmed as bobby still posted on his social media pages on Monday, May 27.
About B.o.B
On November 15, 1988, in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Bobby Ray Simmons Jr. was born. From elementary school to high school, he was a trumpet player in his school band. In sixth grade, B.o.B made the decision that he wanted to pursue a career in music, despite his parents’ wishes for him to continue his education.
Born and raised in Decatur, Georgia, Simmons joined Rebel Rock Entertainment’s producer Jim Jonsin in 2006. Two years later, he inked a joint recording deal with Grand Hustle Records, an Atlantic Records brand, which is owned by fellow rapper T.I. from Georgia.
Simmons’ 2009 debut single, “Nothin’ on You” (featuring Bruno Mars), peaked at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart and earned three nominations for the 53rd Grammy Awards: Record of the Year, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. This helped Simmons quickly achieve commercial success after signing a major-label deal.
